Energy efficiency service for the new dwelling developer
Expert, professional and cost effective
The UK government has committed to improving the energy efficiency of buildings as part of the EU commitments made under the Kyoto agreement. Since April 2006 under building regulations (Part L) all new dwelling developments require an assessment of the energy efficiency of the design.
The calculation method adopted within the UK regulations is referred to as the Standard Assessment Process (SAP) and is based on the “BREDEM” Model developed by the Building Research Establishment (BRE). Building fabric, insulation, air tightness, ventilation, heating, hot water and lighting system performance must all be included in this assessment. National Home Energy Rating (NHER), is an additional scheme providing a more comprehensive energy efficiency profile beyond that required by building control.
At Fabrum, we offer:
- SAP calculations (from plans), typically 2 working days after all information received.
- Building regulation Part L1a application support.
- Advice on cost effective compliance for new build designs.
- Electronic or paper exchange of documents and drawings, including issue of Energy Performance Certificates and building control submissions, to ISO 9001 quality assured process.
- National Home Energy Ratings (NHER).
